Choosing The Right Types of Dog Bones For Husky Puppies

Choosing the right type of dog bones for your husky puppies can be a bit overwhelming. However, it does not have to be.  The most important thing to remember when choosing a dog bone for your husky puppy is that bone matches your dog’s chewing rate and chewing habits. Siberian huskies are one of the larger breeds and they are known to be “power chewers” and they need a durable dog bone.

A few types of dog bones that are good for husky puppies are Bone-Hard Chews by Dr’s. Foster & Smith, Nylabones and Compressed Rawhide Bones. Husky puppies have very strong jaw muscles and getting him/her a bone-hard dog chew is an excellent choice. Some huskies are such powerful chewers that they tear apart certain bones in an instant. Huskies need a long-lasting, durable bone. Bone-Hard Chews are designed to wear down slowly rather than break or splinter, and they provide important dental benefits. Nylon based Nylabones are almost indestructible and they will provide your pup with hours of satisfaction.

Another great type of dog bone designed specifically for “power chewers” the pressed rawhide bones. I started giving my husky puppies pressed rawhide dog bones when we first brought them home. These treats are are great for huskies because they are heavier and tougher than regular rawhide treats. Another benefits of these dog bones is that they are made from real cowhide. Pressed rawhide bones are dense dog chews that are formed by “welding” numerous layers of rawhide with extreme pressure. The result is an ultra-dense, solid dog bone that will outlast any other style of rawhide dog bones.

Pressed rawhide bones will also improve your puppy’s dental health. When your husky puppy chews on a bone it scrapes away plaque and prevents tartar buildup. Two things that will help maintain healthy teeth and gums. Chewing on a bone also helps with bad breathe and your pups teeth will stay whiter.

Giving your husky pups bones to chew on has other benefits too. Chewing will provide your puppy with a stimulating activity that is sure to keep them entertained for a while. Bones are especially helpful for teething puppies. Chewing on a bone will also satisfy your pup’s innate urge to chew. This can often help deter destructive behavior.

Siberian Husky Adoption

Adopting a pet is one of the most rewarding experiences. If you have been looking for husky puppies for sales I would urge you to investigate Siberian husky adoption before you go ahead and make any decisions. Husky pups are a very popular pet and I’m sure that you would be able to find a reputable husky breeder that has healthy husky puppies for sale. However, the number of huskies that have been abandoned and need loving homes as well is one the rise.

The poor economy has had a major effect on many pet owners. Record numbers of animals are turning up in animal shelters and rescue groups across the country because of these hard times. People are losing jobs, and even worse, they are losing their homes.  Unfortunately these circumstances are forcing more and more people to have to give up their family pets.

Pet adoption is also on the rise because families who are interested in getting a new puppy or dog are turning to shelters and rescues simply because it is cheaper than purchasing a puppy. More importantly, you will be  saving a huskies life!  The numbers for Siberian husky adoption hit an all time high last month, and it seems that these numbers will continue to grow. Siberian Husky Rescue groups are seeing huskies of all ages being brought in.

An adult husky may be a better choice for a family who doesn’t really have the time to train husky puppies. Puppies are a lot of work and if you don’t have the time, adopting an adult dog is much better option. There are some excellent resources available to you if you are interested in Siberian husky adoption. Browse through the following sites and you’ll be able to locate husky puppies, adolescent huskies, and adult huskies for adoption. You can also call your local animal shelter and ask them if they have any huskies. Some shelters will put you on a list and they’ll give you a call when a husky is brought in.

Puppy Collars For Your Husky Puppies

Husky puppies, like all puppies, should get their first dog collar when you bring them home. Putting a dog collar on your puppies shows that your puppy has an owner. While, I wouldn’t recommend using a collar and leash to walk your husky puppies, having a collar is important for other reasons. The most important reason to get your husky puppy a collar is to provide them with identification. You can have a pet Id tag made with your pups name, your name and phone number on it so that you can be contacted in the event that your puppy gets lost. While it will take a little while for your puppies to adjust to their new collar, you will be protecting them by getting them a collar. Your husky pups will probably try to get the collar off for the first few days, but they will eventually get used to it.

So, what type of dog collars are the best for husky puppies? Well, there are a few types of puppy collars that would be just fine for your husky pups. What type of collar you get for them will really depend on your own personal preference. Just make sure that the collar you choose is the proper size and that it is durable. Dog.com makes a a variety of dog collars and they are very reasonably priced. The first type of puppy collar that you may consider is an adjustable nylon collar. These dog collars look great and they are made with a long-wearing nylon. Because they are adjustable they will also grow with your puppies so you won’t have to keep spending money on dog collars. The collar has a nice steel ring to attach your pups ID tag. This is really the reason for getting your puppy a collar, so make sure the collar has a ring for their ID tag.
